SUMMARY:CAMRAmble– Blaydon to Ryton Linear Walk (via Greenside)
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 17 October 2026 – 12.00 noon to 6.45pm (approx.) \nGrade: Moderate to Strenuous \nMileage: 6.5 – 7.00 total approx. \nTerrain: mostly on tarmacked paths but also pavements\, country lanes and footpaths. Good strong walking shoes or boots are recommended. \n5 stiles in reasonable to good condition \nPLEASE NOTE: \n1 / the ½ mile walk up Stella Lane is very steep \n2/ we cross the very busy A695 twice which requires extreme caution and awareness \nOverview: Our group will meet at The Half Irish Micropub in Blaydon (opens 12 noon) and the walk will commence at 12.40pm prompt. \nWe will then take a stop at The Black Bull before continuing to The Board Inn at Stella 9arring approx. 2.15pm) which will be our lunch stop. \nAfter about 1 hour we will walk to the White Swan at Greenside before heading to Ryton. \nThe last leg of our walk will be to Ryton arriving at about 5.45pm. \nOn reaching Main Road in Ryton you have the option to leave the group and visit The Lane Head pub or depart for home. \nThe group will then visit Ye Olde Cross (arriving at about 6.00pm) before finishing the walk at The Lane Head. \nDogs are allowed on our walks but please check with the pubs that they are “Dog Friendly”. \nPlease be patient when waiting to be served at pubs.
